| | Day 4 | (CRUISE) EDFU – KOMOMBO - ASWAN | After breakfast, visit the best-preserved temple in the whole of Egypt - The Temple of Horus. On guard at the entrance is a beautiful black granite statue depicting Horus in the form of falcon. Back to the cruise, we shall sail on to Kom Ombo. Visit the double Temple of God Sobek and Horus the Great. After tour, return to cruise and sail on to Aswan.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 5 | (CRUISE) ASWAN – ABU SIMBEL – ASWAN | After breakfast, proceed by coach to visit the Abu Simbel Temple of King Ramses II and Queen Nefetari. Not only are the two temples among the most magnificent monuments in the world but their removal and reconstruction was an historic event in itself. During the construction of the High Dam in 1964, the original temples were dismantled and raised over 60 meters up the sandstone cliff where they had been built more than 3,000 years before. Here they were reassembled, in the exact same relationship to each other and the sun, and covered with an artificial mountain. Return to Aswan for more sightseeing tour, visiting the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and experience felucca (or motor-boat) ride to view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Kitchener Island.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 6 | ASWAN - (domestic flight) - CAIRO | After breakfast, disembark cruise and proceed to airport for your flight to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. After lunch, visit one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” - The Great Pyramids of Giza. The three Great Pyramids were built by Cheops (the father), Chephron (the son) and Mycerinus (the grandson) at about 2650 BC. About 350m from the Cheops’ pyramid stand the Great Sphinx (father of terror). This gigantic statue represents a lion with a human head, which was said to be a likeness of Chephren standing guard over his tomb. Last but not least, visit the world’s most famous museum - The Egyptian Museum. Learn the history and see the antiquities of some of the great pharaohs. If time permits, you will also visit the papyrus showroom to learn how the beautiful papyrus drawings are handmade since ancient time. Have dinner and overnight in Cairo.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 7 | CAIRO – SINAI PENINSULAR | After breakfast, we head for the Sinai Peninsular. Sinai is where rock meets coral reef and the desert stops at the sea. And the route to the Promised Land, where Isis sought Osiris and the Pharaohs found gold. Cross the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel which connects the mainland Egypt with Sinai. Shortly after, make a stop at Oyun Musa. It is believed that this is the Springs of Moses. Moses is said to have, upon the advice of God, thrown a special tree into the brackish water which made it drinkable. Today the spring is still brackish, and there is no tree in sight, but seven of the original 12 springs still exist. Dinner and overnight in St Catherine.
(Note: Lodging at St Catherine is mainly 3-4 star hotels with basic facilities only)
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 8 | MOUNT SINAI - ST.CATHERINE – DAHAB - NUWEIBA | Early morning, we will climb Mt. Sinai to see the spectacular sunrise. As you ascend the path of the chapels, mosques and the other sacred sites you will also learn about the dramatic events such as the Burning Bush and the receiving of the Ten Commandments that happened in this part of the Sinai desert between 3500 and 3200 years ago. For some the ascent is merely a physical experience but those who choose to understand the history of the "God-Trodden Mount", and respect its 1600-year-old monastic tradition will undoubtedly discover something more spiritual. Return to hotel for breakfast before visiting the Monastery of St. Catherine. After which, continue to the Nuweiba via Dahab..
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 9 | NUWEIBA – AQABA – WADI RUM - PETRA | After breakfast, catch a 1.5 hour ferry across the Red Sea to Aqaba, a famous Red Sea resort of Jordan. From here, we proceed to Wadi Rum, the “Vast, echoing and God-like” – as described by T.E. Lawrence. It is the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s desert landscapes, but by no means the only one. Join the local Bedouins in their jeep (or local vehicle) to explore the desert where the sand is red and the rocks look like gigantic multilayered chocolate cakes melting in the setting sun.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 10 | PETRA | Petra was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom from the 4th century BC to the 2nd century AD. From the 12th century until its rediscovery in 1812, Petra was lost to the world - a closely guarded secret of the local tribes. Today the ‘rose red city half as old as time’ is probably the most impressive archeological site in the Middle East, rivaling the temples and pyramids of Egypt in grandeur. Enjoy a full day tour exploring and walking through the hidden valley of Petra; we will see the Obelisk Tomb and the irrigation system which carried water from a dam throughout the desert city. Access to the monuments of Petra is through a narrow gorge in the towering rocks called the ‘Siq’. As we emerge from the ‘Siq’ you stand in awe in front of the ‘Treasury’ (El Kazneh), a graceful structure carved from the living rock and the renowned icon of Petra. . Carry on into the valley where elaborate tombs are carved into the multicolored walls. Everywhere the sandstone swirls and twists in shades of red, orange, yellow, pink and white. See the Roman amphitheatre, carved directly out of the mountain, with space for over 3,000 spectators. Further on in the main valley of Petra are the Royal Tombs including the Palace Tomb and the Silk Tomb. Return to hotel for dinner and the night.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 11 | PETRA – DEAD SEA - MOUNT NEBO – MADABA - AMMAN | Depart up north the “lowest point on earth” – the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea contains 10 times more salts and minerals than the Mediterranean Sea. The high salt and mineral concentration enables everyone to float in its waters but doesn't allow the proliferation of fish and other marine life. You will have time for a short “floating” experience before we head further north, stopping at Mount Nebo, the alleged burial place of Moses to enjoy the panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and Madaba, where we will visit St. George’s Cathedral where the 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land is laid down. Arrive Amman, the capital city for dinner and the night.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 12 | AMMAN | After breakfast, embark on a guided city tour of Amman City. Visit the Citadel; towering above Amman, the site of the earliest fortifications with traces of Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic remains. Important structures are the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace complex with its monumental audience hall, and a Byzantine Church. You may also visit Jordan Archaeological Museum; an excellent collection of the antiquities of Jordan dating from prehistoric times to the 15th century. Continue to visit the Roman Theatre; dating from 151 AD and built to seat 6000 people, the theatre has been partially rebuilt and is again being used for performances. Proceed to the Jordan Folklore Museum; a recreation of traditional Jordanian life, including costumes, home furnishings, musical instruments and handicrafts dating back to the 19th century. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
| | Day 13 | AMMAN - DOHA - SINGAPORE | After breakfast, the morning is free at leisure till time for departure to the airport for your flight to Cairo and catches your international flight to Doha and Singapore.
(Breakfast)
| | Day 14 | ARRIVAL IN SINGAPORE | We hope you have had an enjoyable vacation with Dynasty Travel and we look forward to bring you to your next holiday destination!
