Central Market – Marvel at South Australia’s rich bounty of produce – from farm-fresh fruit and vegetables to hormone-free meats, artisan cheeses, smoked meats and seafood. It’s all at the Central Market, where you can stop for an espresso or a bite. (Market is closed every Sunday and Monday)
Victor Harbour Horse Drawn Tram - Take a ride on the only horse-drawn tramway in Australia, Magnificent Clydesdale horses will take you along the causeway from seaside Victor Harbor to Granite Island
Big Duck Boat Tour (Southern Ocean Adventure) – This breathtaking tour departs from the Granite Island causeway past many offshore islands and spectacular cliffs. See seals, sea lions and dolphins along the way. Cruising through the Encounter Marine Park where you will also view whales during the winter months when they migrate from Antarctica to the warm waters of of Encounter Bay. (Whale Season June-September)
Travel to Cape Jervis via coach and transfer to a ferry to get to Kangaroo Island - Australia's third-largest island, after Tasmania and Melville Island. Kangaroo Island lies off the mainland of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide. Over a third of the island is protected in nature reserves, home to native wildlife like sea lions, koalas and diverse bird species.
Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery - Eucalytpus Oil is produced naturally from the Kangaroo Island Narrow-Leaf Mallee which is the dense multi-stemmed tree growing at the sides of the road. Eucalyptus oil has many uses, disinfectant, insect repellent, soothes bites and stings, decongestant, stain remover and cleaner. The traditional distilling processes to extract the eucalyptus oil from the leaves will be explained and you will be taken on a guided tour of the distillery. Visit the shop and see the many products using eucalyptus oil, which are available for purchase.
Seal Bay - is the home of the Australian sea lion and the third largest breeding colony in Australia. You will have the opportunity to see these creatures close-up, swimming in the surf or basking in the sand. Seal Bay is a conservation park and you will be taken down onto the beach by a Parks Interpretative Officer. Take your camera with you, as this is a unique opportunity to walk on the beach with these animals.
Raptor Domain –Bird of Prey Show An awe-inspiring In-Flight Display of Australian Birds of Prey, Wedge Tailed Eagles, Kookaburras, Osprey, Sea Eagles, Australian Kestrels, Australian Hobby Falcons and different varieties of owls. Join Dave and Leeza Irwin and their wonderful presenters for an amazing interactive experience while the birds demonstrate their natural skills, adaptions and hunting techniques.
Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park - With flames on their doorstep and an entire town evacuated Sam Mitchell and some close family friends stayed and protected over 700 animals in their care. With over 150,000 hectares lost due to the fires a large number of Koalas are being cared for here as they recover. The Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park will also provide you with an opportunity to walk amongst kangaroos and wallabies and you can hand feed them.
Transfer to Penneshaw for our ferry ride back to Cape Jervis before continuing our tour to Adelaide Hill
Hahndorf – Adelaide’s oldest surviving German settlement that still has a strong German influence evident in the small goods outlets, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and cafes that line the bustling main street. Free time to explore the shops and galleries
Beerenberg Strawberry Farm – Farm shop visit where you will be able to try product and see how produce is grown. You can also go for strawberry picking if your travel falls within harvest season. (Picking start from November to April)
Haigh’s Chocolates Visitor Centre – Go on the guided viewing tour of the factory to learn the history of Haigh’s and how they make premium quality chocolate from cocoa beans sourced from plantations around the world
Whispering Wall – An acoustic phenomenon at Barossa Reservoir, Words spoken in a whisper can be heard clearly at the other side which is approximately 140 metres away
Lyndoch Lavender Farm – Go on a guided walk around the Lavender plantings and learn more about their uses and properties as well as cultivation and distillation
Jacob’s Creek Vineyard Tour + Wine Tasting + Lunch – Go on a walking tour of their display vineyard and learn more about what goes into making great wines. Your host will provide an overview of the 14 different grapes varieties grown in the vineyard. A tutored wine tasting will follow which includes seven wines and basic wine education (Note: Wine tasting is not for Children below the age of 18 years)
Mengler Hill Lookout Point – One of the most popular scenic overlooks in the Barossa where you can take in bird's-eye views of the region’s expansive vineyards and rolling hills.
Transfer to Adelaide Airport for flight back home
